| If you're like most of us, we don’t get outdoors much, especially when the weather is colder. There’s so much to do and see in the great outdoors, to prove it, we’ve come up with 35 fun things to do to get your girls outside for fresh air, exploration and fun!
Troops and individual girls are encouraged to get outside and explore the natural environment then share what they’ve learned with others through photos, videos, blogs, and art projects. You’ll find activities for every Girl Scout level. If you’re looking for a place to start your exploration, try your backyard or local park, and when you’re ready for a big adventure, plan a day trip or an overnight at one of our camps: Inawendiwin, Kettle Run,Oak Spring or Sacajawea. |
“Many of today’s children may fear walking in the woods
or touching soil because they have been conditioned
to fear the unknown. . .
If children experience an interaction with adults
who care about, value, respect,
and love the environment,
then they too,
will adopt these attitudes.”
