Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ (GSCSNJ) operates four camp properties in Somerset, Burlington and Gloucester counties. Our camps provide unique outdoor opportunities for the girls of New Jersey, including an abundance of hiking trails, archery, canoeing, rock walls and many other exciting games and activities. All four camps are available throughout the year for site rentals both to members and nonmembers. Three of our camps, Sacajawea (Sacy), Inawendiwin and Oak Spring operate as summer camps, offering girls a one of kind outdoor adventure.

GSCSNJ camps provide girls with both a sense of adventure and the chance for personal growth. We encourage girl participation, personal achievement and skill improvement so every girl feels comfortable and successful. We offer lots of activities and program options specifically designed to meet the diverse and expanding recreational needs and interests of our campers. Camp teaches girls to take responsibility and the importance of meaningful relationships in life. They don’t need to be “cool” at camp. It is where they can truly be themselves and be accepted for who they are. The camps are designed to help girls boost their self-esteem, build their confidence, and invest in themselves and the things that are important to them. An interesting thing happens at camp when kids are taken out of their usual environment: the rules change. Everything changes. Authenticity is rewarded. Responsibility is cool. Maturity adds clout.

Camp builds confidence. Confidence in one’s abilities is a transferable skill. A child begins to think, “Well, if I can do that, then I can probably do this too...” Girls at camp learn to do things they thought they could not do and recognize their strengths.

Safety is our #1 priority. We hire our staff based on experience, ability to serve as a role model and a genuine desire to work with children. All staff members participate in pre-camp training. Our camps are accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) and are certified in accordance with the NJ Youth Camp Safety Act.
